The scientific journal Physics of Elementary Particles and Atomic Nuclei of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna) was founded by Academician N.N. Bogolyubov in August 1969.
The Editors-in-chief of the journal were Academician N.N. Bogolyubov (1970-1992), Academician A.M. Baldin (1992-2001) and Academician V.G. Kadyshevsky (2001-2014).
Published by leading physicists from the JINR member states, as well as by scientists from other countries, review articles in this journal examine problems of elementary particle physics, nuclear physics, condensed matter physics, experimental data processing, accelerators and related instrumentation ecology and radiology.
Publication frequency of the journal is 6 times a year. Since 2000, additional issues have been published by the decision of the editorial board.
The founder of the journal is the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The journal is registered with the Ministry of Press, Broadcasting and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.
